Exterior mounted recovery board options

I dont yet have a pair of recovery boards, however going to buy some soon. Looking for the best options for exterior mounting (I don’t have a roof rack). I’ve seen a company that makes one that uses a ratchet strap to go around the spare tire…but am curious how it will hold up on highway driving/actually being off-road. The last thing I need is the mount falling off ?

Looking if people have experience with this or any other type of mounting system.

I used ratchet straps with a makeshift mount for mine once. Drive 6 hours to the OBX, around town at the beach and on the sand for 5 days and then 6 hours back. Never budged. Checked them a few times and they were always strapped on solid. I’d go with the tire mount personally, out of the way and had zero issues with it.

Interior mounted and out of the way. What about this? Fits well inside the hardtop, and my new version that's in production should fit well within the soft top with exception of the fully retracted position.

That's a great solution for a 4 door but won't work for the 2 door.
