Yes. Build Weeks 11/1-12/06

Looks like full scheduling, which I assume to be soft tops. This is balance out, Ford will be exhausting all the commodities they can, expect stock units to schedule when they run out of buildable retail units. I imagine there will be some clean up scheduling in the coming weeks as well, so this likely won't be the last chance to get scheduled. Ford did say final orders are due 10/1/2021 though, so this is the last chance to get a soft top build in.

Feel free to use this thread to post your scheduling and production questions. I'm no expert, but I have just enough knowledge to be dangerous. If I don't know, I'll see if I can reach out to my contacts for more clarity.

I cannot tell you your odds of being scheduled. I don't have enough scheduling information for that. I can answer questions on the scheduling process, allocation process, basic info on the assembly process, and the transportation process.

This question is asked enough that I thought it important that everyone who has this question understands the cadence.

The below information is no longer accurate due to the ever-changing situation, but I'm leaving it up for those that are interested.
GENERALLY SPEAKING:

Ford schedules orders on Thursdays. This is true for all model lines. Normally Ford schedules weekly or a couple weeks at a time. With Bronco, they're doing things a little differently. Scheduling is done in three phases throughout the scheduling period which is supposed to be monthly. That has been messed up a little with the shutdowns and what have you, but is mostly correct. Phase 1 is First Editions which is one week, Phase 2 is Regular Broncos which is one week, Phase 3 is Cleanup which is multiple weeks until the next scheduling period.
P1/P2 are self explanatory.
P3 is Ford working though additional available commodities attempting to schedule unscheduled allocation to maximize the assembly line and parts available.

My Story: placed down payment July 2020 to “get in line” for my 2021 Big Bend Hardtop. Sept 2021 asked to verify options as production was near. Jan 2022 notification that production was to start with estimated delivery date late Jan. Then crickets…..notification in March of some sort of delay…….crickets….notification May 12 vehicle built, estimated delivery week of May 22….contacted dealer who was unaware of anything. They later notified me that there was a delay potentially till July ???? He said due to chip issues. Now how can a vehicle be built and then all the sudden have a chip issue ? Did Ford remove my chip and give it to someone else ? What is going on here ???!! Worst vehicle purchase experience of my life !!

"How can a vehicle be built then all of the sudden have a chip issue?"

QA checks. They could have pulled your vehicle for QA checks, found a problem, then realized it was a component that they can't replace due to the chip shortage. Yours is not the only vehicle impacted.

I'm surprised so many people still don't get the fact that shutting down businesses for weeks at a time doesn't have consequences . In the last few months I have tried to buy spray foam , a freezer , wood to finish my garage , garage doors , a replacement part for my truck that took 7 weeks to arrive , and various other things that I still haven't received . Just like baby formula , it and the parts to build your Bronco will eventually be back in stock .

Mine is a July 2020 reservation also with no build date in sight apparently . To think it is just a Ford issue is silly though .

i guess my confusion is that I know of people who have ordered soft tops and gotten them delivered in 4-6 weeks. A soft top still requires the same chips as a hard top. Are they giving priority on chips to soft top orders ? This doesn’t seem right, especially if my vehicle was supposedly “built”.

The problem is I haven't seen an effort by anyone to identify where the break happened. If you got built that means you have a window sticker. And the window sticker shows you the blend day, and the sequence on the assembly line for your truck.

In theory, we have enough people here we could paste together the EXACT BLEND DATE that things went wonky, and the specific place in line that happened.

As to chips. We know that 2 of the chips affected were those for the navigation system, and whatever displays the temperature on the HVAC knob. Not all broncos get navigation. I don't recall the timing for the top problems, but if you had a hard top that wouldn't pass QA, it's likely they had an entire bad batch. And hardtops have been a constraint from day one because even if the original supplier didn't have the problems they had, they didn't have the capacity for how fast the lines are running. From the perspective of the production manager at Ford, it has to have been a completely FUBAR for a while now.
